Family Advising Tools
Our proprietary family advising tools are designed to foster family alignment, discover purpose, and define generational impact beyond financial capital.
The following are an introduction to some of the tools we developed independently and utilize with clients.
1. Setting the Table©
This foundational experience facilitates a deep conversation around transitioning the full weight of the family’s wealth and legacy, not just transferring it. Families explore how their memories, values, and pursuits are lived and expressed using the family table—one from the past, present, and future - as the thought vehicle.
2. Web of Family Wealth©
This interactive exercise expands the definition of wealth, helping families visualize and assess their overall well-being, purpose, and impact. By identifying key drivers of personal fulfillment and shared legacy, families gain insight into where they are today and where they want to invest—emotionally, spiritually, and socially—to live richer, more purposeful lives.
3. Legacy Jukebox©
This immersive tool helps individuals explore the story of their "organic legacy"—the impact one naturally leaves on their surroundings through relationships, values, and achievements in life. Using 100 coins, participants assign how many coins are needed for each of the 6 Jukebox’s that make up the orchestra of your organic legacy. This exercise often reveals gaps between intention and action, sparking important conversations about aligning legacy goals with present-day plans.
4. Our Unknown Inheritance©
Inheritance by nature involves a lack of choice, but identifying and understanding a fuller picture of what is being transitioned to individuals across generations is invaluable to successful families. This tool identifies the values, beliefs, and experiences that represent nonfinancial assets of an individual and the outcomes are used to create a framework of where and how families can cultivate and communicate intangible forms of wealth.
5. Old & New Money Messages
Money is more than a number or an amount- it is a component of wealth that is shaped by stories, beliefs, and assumptions. This self-reflection tool helps individuals and families uncover the unconscious "Old Money Messages" that have shaped their relationship with wealth and create new ones that better serve their needs and plans.
