Frequently asked questions.
What types of families or individuals benefit most from QCI’s services?
QCI is an immediate value-add with families, foundations, and other philanthropic institutions looking to give meaning to their wealth, are curious about evolving their philanthropic engagements, or want to strengthen family unity with a shared purpose. Whether you’re just beginning to explore how to make an impact with your time, talent and treasure, have a charitable plan in place, or are using a philanthropic vehicle like a donor advised fund or family foundation, we bring clarity, alignment, and strategies to enhance your impact.
Can QCI work alongside our family foundation staff or donor-advised fund provider?
Absolutely. Queen City Impact is a strategic partner that frequently works alongside other trusted advisors and institutions that support multi-generational families. We use a teaming approach to our services that is dedicated to elevating the client’s experience and stewarding the values, social capital, and family wealth. This enhances advising collaboration and ensures that services are personalized to the client and aligned with other family plans.
Does QCI only focus on philanthropy, or do you address other areas of family wealth and legacy?
Philanthropy is a natural entry point, but our work often expands into areas like family governance, mentoring rising generations, and helping multi-generational families articulate a shared vision for the next chapter of a family legacy.
Is there a minimum level of wealth required to work with QCI?
No- Philanthropy is deeply personal and we do not have an asset-level requirement for clients. However, the average client who engages QCI have a minimum of $5 million in assets and demonstrates a genuine desire to create (or increase) a lasting impact with their wealth. The common denominator for working with us is not a number—it is an interest and investment in the client’s own purpose and legacy.
How long does a typical engagement last?
It varies by client and goals. Some projects are short-term (a few months to design a philanthropic strategy and identify high-impact partners), while others are scoped to be multi-year relationships with services that evolve as family priorities and generations shift. QCI adapts to where you are on your journey, guiding through a short hurdles or navigating through a mountainous stage of life.
Do you charge hourly, or is pricing based on projects?
QCI’s services are tailored and pricing is typically structured as a flat project fee or retainer depending on the scope of work. The goal is to make fees transparent, predictable, and aligned with the value created for your family.
Do you only work with clients in Cincinnati?
No. We meet you where you are, when you need us, and how you feel comfortable. While QCI is based in Cincinnati, we serve families and institutions across the U.S. and internationally. Many engagements are a mix of in-person and virtual sessions, depending on the family’s needs and preferences.
